Officer's Garden
With monumental elegance
Discover the hidden officers’ garden. An oasis of peace within the hustle and bustle of the big city. The garden is rich in monumental trees and historical stories.
There used to be a church here dating from 1348, but it was destroyed in the storm of 1674. In the time of the Military Hospital (1823 to 1989), the garden was only accessible to the officers, hence the name ‘Officers’ Garden’. Grateful students from Japan donated special trees to the military hospital when they left. You can admire one of the largest Japanese nut trees – or Ginkgo Biloba – as well as an Oriental plane tree that is more than three centuries old.
A drink, dinner or exhibition, the green space offers many possibilities. A beautiful location, perfect for a unique experience.
